Toll Lens Privacy Policy

Effective August 27, 2026

Information stored by Toll Lens

Toll Lens stores saved trip identifiers, route selections, shortcut colors, and a recent WSDOT toll-feed response in local app storage. The response remains locally until replaced, the app's data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.

Toll Lens does not operate an account, advertising, or analytics service. Its publisher cannot remotely read this local app data.

Information sent to WSDOT

When Toll Lens refreshes toll information, it sends an HTTPS request directly to the Washington State Department of Transportation's toll-rate API. The request contains a developer-issued API access code. It does not contain your saved trip selection, name, email address, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier.

WSDOT can receive ordinary request metadata for that HTTPS request. Its web privacy notice says its digital services may automatically collect and store a network address, browser or operating-system information, request date and time, requested pages, referring page, and traffic statistics. WSDOT says it uses automatically collected information to improve its services and retains records under Washington State Archives schedules.

For Apple's App Privacy disclosure, Toll Lens conservatively describes request timing as Product Interaction and WSDOT-retained network and request metadata as Other Diagnostic Data. Both are disclosed as linked to the user and used for app functionality and analytics, but not for tracking. Toll Lens does not receive WSDOT's server logs.

Tracking

Toll Lens does not track users across apps or websites and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Toll Lens keeps locally saved trips and its cached rate response until they are changed, cleared with the app's data, or removed by uninstalling the app. Removing a saved trip removes that shortcut from Toll Lens but does not control records independently retained by WSDOT.

Children

Toll Lens is a general-audience travel utility and does not knowingly request personal information from children.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
